Certified Functional Nutrition CounselorFunctional Nutrition Alliance · Official CertificationOne-to-one counseling with Denise Christenson, CFNC, in person or virtual. We find the root causes behind how you feel, then build a food and lifestyle plan made for your body.
Many people come to functional nutrition after trying diet after diet without lasting change. These are some of the most common reasons clients reach out.

Functional nutrition asks why, not just what.
Functional nutrition is a personalized, root-cause approach to wellness that looks at the whole body, not just symptoms.
By understanding how your biology, lifestyle and eating habits work together, we use food, daily habits and natural support to help your body rebalance and thrive.

Most concerns connect to one or more of these areas. Your sessions focus on what matters most for you.
Support for bloating, irregularity and digestive discomfort.
Find which foods may be working against you.
Steadier energy, cravings and mood through the day.
Nutrition support for hormone balance at every stage.
Food and evening habits for more restful sleep.
Support your body's own detox systems, no extreme cleanses.
Food first, then filling gaps wisely.
Herbal support chosen with your health history in mind.
Four one-to-one steps that uncover what is going on and give you a clear, personal plan.
Talk through your goals and see if we are a good fit.
A discovery session on your history, habits and goals.
Your personalized food and lifestyle recommendations.
Review your progress and agree on next steps together.
In some cases these sessions conclude your work with us. In more complex cases, continued counseling may be recommended to help you meet your goals.

Functional nutrition counseling complements your medical care. Denise focuses on food, daily habits and lifestyle, and never asks you to stop or change a prescribed medication.
Discounted packages for more value and steady support, paced to your needs.

I help people understand how their body works and use food and daily habits to feel their best. I have been fascinated by anatomy, biology and how our bodies are designed to heal since I was young.
After a 30-year career in graphic design and building a successful sign business, I followed the calling that was always there. I trained with the Functional Nutrition Alliance and became certified so I could guide, support and empower you every step of the way.
